Facebook Changes Parent Name To Meta

Facebook has changed its corporate name to Meta. Facebook Chairman and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced this on Thursday, saying it is part of a major rebranding. The change does not apply to its individual platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, only the parent company that owns them.   The move follows a series of negative stories about Facebook, based on documents leaked by Frances Haugen, an ex-employee. Haugen had accused the company of putting “profits over safety”   The rebranding happened amid criticisms from American lawmakers and regulators over its market power, its algorithmic decisions and the policing of abuses on its platforms.

eNaira may lead to new level of cybercrime, IT specialist warns

An IT specialist, Mrs Tinuola Popoola, warned in Abuja on Wednesday that exciting as the recently-launched eNaira is, it could lead to a new crime level if cyber security was not strengthened. eNaira is the Nigerian digital currency issued and regulated by the CBN. Hundreds of travellers stranded as Delta bridge collapsed

A bridge along Agbor-Abraka-Eku road in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State popularly known as Umutu bridge has collapsed. The incident which left hundreds of motorists and travellers stranded, occurred in the early hours of Friday morning, October 22, 2021. The aged long bridge was said to have carved in after a Trailer conveying heavy duty construction bulldozer was passing through it towards the Agbor axis of the state. The stranded travellers were seen lamenting over the sad situation obviously confused on next step to take as at the time of filling in this report. Federal Ministry of Agriculture and NSPRI trains ADP staff on post harvest management

By Stephanie Ikanone Odiete In a bid to curb post-harvest losses among farmers in the country the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the Nigeria Stored Product Research Institute (NSPRI) organized a training program for staff of the Agricultural Development Projects (ADP) selected from states in the South-South and South East geopolitical zones of the country began training on technological innovation in post-harvest management in Sapele, Delta State. The program which started on  October 18th, 2021 is scheduled to end on Friday October 22nd, 2021.
