Family of the girl slaughtered by some teenage boys in Oke Aregba area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, has demanded that the killers of their daughter should be beheaded immediately. While pleading that justice must not be delayed, the family asked that the boys should be slaughtered in the same manner they slaughtered the girl, who was a girlfriend to one of the arrested boys. Woman seeks divorce over husband’s poor sexual performance, says he is a one-minute man

A 32-year-old housewife, Zainab Shehu, on Thursday prayed a Shari’a court sitting at Rigasa, Kaduna state to dissolve her marriage over the alleged inability of her husband, Faisal Yahaya, to satisfy her sexually, saying that her husband is a one-minute man in bed. Shehu, who resides in the Rigasa area of Kaduna, said: “my husband is a one-minute man in bed. “I have advised him to seek medical help. He agreed and took some herbs but later stopped taking it. “I don’t want to sin against God that is why I want a divorce so that I can remarry a healthier man”, she said. On his part, Yahaya, 60, is denied the claims, saying he was fit and healthy. The judge, Malam Abubakar Salisu-Tureta ordered the couple to go to the hospital for a check-up for Yahaya to know the cause of his predicament. He adjourned until Feb. 3 for the hospital test results to be reported.

Man Smashes 4-Month-Old Son to Death Over Paternity Doubts

A 23-year-old Mark Njuguna, has been arrested by the Police for allegedly killing his four-month-old son in Gatanga Murang’a, Kenya. In a video that has gone viral online, the suspect was seen physically assaulting his wife Mary Muthoni, with a belt while their baby was crying on the floor. The suspect later grabbed the infant, who he claims is not his biological son and tossed him over the sofa. The baby was said to have died on the spot after landing on the concrete floor. According to the police report, the incident which happened in the early hours of Tuesday, January 25, was reported by the suspect’s father. Njuguna’s father, Samuel Kigumo, was alerted by his daughter-in-law at about 2:45 am after the incident happened. Kiguro said Muthoni managed to escape from the house after her husband threatened to kill her if she raised an alarm to alert neighbors. Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta on Thursday, called for immediate assessment of the cause of the petroleum product tanker explosion, which razed down no fewer than 25 houses and destroyed valuables worth millions of naira in Ohoror community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday night in the community located along Warri-Portharcout Expressway, reportedly claimed two lives in the two trucks involved in the explosion. Okowa made the call when he visited the scene of the incident. BREAKING: Two Burnt To Death, Houses Razed As Gas Tanker Explodes In Delta Community

At least two persons have been reportedly burnt to death when a truck carrying liquefied petroleum gas otherwise called cooking gas exploded at Ohoro community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. The incident followed an accident involving two other trucks at the popular Ohoro Junction of Uwheru Kingdom. Properties running into hundreds of millions of naira including vehicles and buildings were razed down by the incident. Sapele Mirror learnt that half of the community was razed by the inferno with thousands of villagers rendered homeless. The incident happened about 2:25am on Thursday morning when a truck carrying granite rammed into a stationary truck said to be carrying diesel.

The Osun State police command has arrested two ritualists, with female body parts found with them. The Osun state police spokesman said: “At about 9:30pm, a distress call was made by a hotel management where they had lodged. The management said a girl screamed twice and after that, no noise was heard again from the room. According to them the scream was like a girl calling for help. According to the management when the guys were about going, they were asked to be escorted back to the room to see if everything was fine and why the girl they came with wasn’t leaving with them. The ritualist said everything was fine and the girl was resting in the room, that she was going to be out. But the hotel management insisted, even though they tried to escape, the hotel management were smart enough to had locked the premises and pinned them down. NAFDAC Bans Production Of Alcohol In Sachet And PET Bottles

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has announced that it has stopped the registration of alcohol in sachet, small volume PET and glass bottles below 200 millilitres. This was disclosed in a statement released by the agency on behalf of its Director-General of the agency, Prof. Mojisola  Adeyeye, on Monday January 24. Adeyeye said the decision to ban registration of new alcoholic drinks in sachet and small volume PET and glass bottles above 30 per cent Alcohol by Volume (ABV), was taken in line with recommendation of a high powered committee of the Federal Ministry of Health,  NAFDAC and Federal Competition, Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) and Industry, Association of Food, Beverages and Tobacco Employers (AFBTE), and Distillers and Blenders Association of Nigeria (DIBAN) in December 2018. Queen Aisosa Ewuare, fifth wife of the Oba, gave birth to the set of quadruplets, three boys and one girl, on August 6, 2021. The naming ceremony took place in the Palace of the revered traditional ruler, according to the traditions of the ancient Kingdom.

Delta Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, has assured members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state of free, fair and transparent primary elections ahead of 2023 general elections. The governor gave the assurance while addressing PDP faithful at a mega rally organised by the the party in Delta at the Cenotaph, Asaba, on Saturday, and affirmed that PDP remained one united family in the state. He assured that leaders of the party in the state would ensure that primaries for all elective positions were free and credible. He said that the massive mobilisation for the rally showed that PDP was ready to rescue Nigeria from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and advised aspirants in other political parties not to waste their money to contest elections in Delta. “I give thanks to God for what is happening here today and I thank our leaders in the PDP, our state and local government executives, our youths and women for the massive mobilisation for this rally.

A senior student of Elkanemi College of Islamic Theology, Jubril Mato in Maiduguri, Borno state, has slit the throat of an 11-year-old junior student.   Umar Goni, the Senior Secondary School 2 student slit the throat of his victim identified as Jibrin Sadi Ramadan with razor during an encounter behind the hostel of the school on Wednesday night January 19. The junior student whose throat was slit for refusing to run an errand, was found lying unconsciously in a pool of blood at the backyard of their hostel. He was rushed to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit Ramadan is said to be in a critical situation. A teacher at the institution decried the attitude of some teachers towards the pupils, adding that it might be because most of the boarding students are from rich and influential backgrounds.   He told Daily Trust that indiscipline is rife in the school due to “material things that staff get from parents of students”.   T

Governor, Delta State, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, has reappointed Barr. Fred Latimore as his Executive Assistant Communications (EAC) . Recall that Latimore was sacked by the governor over issues of insubordination and gross misconduct.   Although it is still unofficial, sources in Government House, said that his reappointment letter was supposed to be ready today or latest tomorrow. “He has been coming to the office for days. He showed signs of remorse after his sack. He listened to advice because he was told not to react negatively to his removal. Also, many notable persons pleaded on his behalf,” a source said. House Girl Flees With N13.9m, Jewellery One Week After Resuming Work

A domestic staff has disappeared after allegedly stealing cash and jewellery valued more than N13.9m from her employer’s residence in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State. Daily Report Nigeria gathered that th fleeing suspect identified simply as Blessing perpetrated the act just one week of resuming work. Blessing’s employer, Pearl Ogbulu, said the Cross River State indigene had been unreachable without trace since the incident occured on Sunday, January 16. Blessing was said to have been introduced to Ogbulu by an agent identified as Joshua Amaha. Ogbulu who was absent from home the day Blessing visited her residence for interview, revealed that her parents had taken the suspect in on her behalf in wait for the interview. During the interview the next day, Ogbulu notified the suspect that she would undergo a test and registration at a police station. However, plans were still underway for the test and registration, when Blessing took advantage of her employer’s absence

Electoral Bill: Senate okays 3-mode of primaries

Nigeria Senate on Wednesday re-amended the Electoral Amendment Bill, 2021, passed by the National Assembly on November 18, 2021, following the refusal by President Muhammadu Buhari to assent to the bill as passed.   Disclosing this, Special Assistant to the Senate President, Ezrel Tabiowo, in a statement on Wednesday, said that the bill was passed by the Committee of the Whole after it was represented to the Senate. According to him, the chamber, in Clause 84(2) of the report, approved direct, indirect primaries or consensus as the procedure for the nomination of candidates by political parties for the various elective positions. The Senate also approved in Clause 84(3) that “a political party that adopts the direct primaries procedure shall ensure that all aspirants are given equal opportunity of being voted for by members of the party.” Clause 84(4) further provides that “a political party that adopts the system of indirect primaries for the choice of its candidate shall
