In furtherance of its determination to ensure that citizens of Delta State acquire the necessary skills and become digital literate in a 21st century digital economy, the state government is to partner with the UK Foreign Common Wealth and Development Office (FCDO) in a Basic Digital Literacy Programme for rural clusters in the state. According to a statement from the Office of the Secretary to the Delta State Government, the Basic Digital Literacy Programme in Nigeria is a project that is co-funded by the UK Foreign Common Wealth and Development office (FCDO) in partnership with selected state governments. In line with arrangements put in place, Tech4dev has been named as the implementing agent for the project. The participating states are required to provide suitable venues, computer facilities, internet data, recruitment and welfare of participants as their contribution to the project, the statement said. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, for impacting positively in the development of artisans in the state.  Dr. Mrakpor SAN  gave the commendation during the Artisans Day celebration at the Cenotaph in Asaba, the state capital.  He commended the governor for creating the enabling environment for the artisans to operate profitably in the state, adding that such move had contributed in the provision of indirect jobs for the artisans. A group of bandits has written to the Christian community in Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria to close churches or risk ferocious attacks. The Zamfara State police command who confirmed the threat to SaharaReporters, said, “We are on top of the threat.” Spokesperson for the command, DSP Mohammed Shehu, told our correspondent that the police were aware of the threat letter. Ughelli :  Okwagbe community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State has alleged that Owawha community has perfected plans to free suspects arrested over the gruesome murder of five of their indigenes namely : Faith Miller, Omotegbona Kama,  Dogo Ayoro, Owhofasa Ajama and Tobor Jivwien.
