Gbagi declares intention to run for Governorship
Delta State governorship aspirant, Mr. Kenneth Gbagi has appealed to the Peoples Democratic Party, to allow a level playing field for all aspirants in the party’s forthcoming governorship primary.
Gbagi said this while formally declaring his interest in running for the office of Governor on the party’s platform at a ceremony at the state PDP Secretariat, in Asaba, on Wednesday.
He said, “I want to thank you for allowing me to stand here today and speak to you on my governorship ambition.
“I stopped entering Delta PDP Secretariat seven years ago until the PDP was reformed. I am here now because PDP is reformed.
“I am one of the founding fathers of this party; till now, I have remained in the party since 2008, many others have gone and come back
“I am here to tell you that I’m contesting the governorship seat come 2023. What I want from you is equity and fairness.”
Gbagi, who was a former minister of state for education, further said, “PDP made a mistake for APC to take over power in 2015: now the APC government has led Nigeria into hunger and a lot of people have passed away as a result of hunger.”
The Delta State PDP Chairman, Mr. Kingsley Esiso in a short remark at the event said the party was on a rescue mission to rebuild Nigeria.
