MRAKPOR, ABANUM LAUD GOVERNOR OKOWA FOR SUPPORTING ARTISANS IN DELTA

The immediate past Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Delta State, Dr. Peter Mrakpor SAN, and the Chairman of the Delta State Artisans, Chief Ifeanyi Abanum, have lauded the state governor, Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, for impacting positively in the development of artisans in the state. 

Dr. Mrakpor SAN  gave the commendation during the Artisans Day celebration at the Cenotaph in Asaba, the state capital.

 He commended the governor for creating the enabling environment for the artisans to operate profitably in the state, adding that such move had contributed in the provision of indirect jobs for the artisans.

Also in a statement the Chairman of the association, Chief Abanum, said that the Okowa-led administration was doing its best to ensure that Delta Artisans continued to contribute their quotas  to the development of the state economy, even in the face of daunting challenges.

He added that the achievements recorded by the Delta Artisans were made possible with the support of Dr.  Mrakpor SAN as the Patron of the association in the state.

“We commend the recorded achievements in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMWs), the YEGEP, STEP, etc. We are so happy for his promise to empower  2,500 artisans and we honestly  appreciate his effort towards assisting us and  his continuous   training of our youths  on entrepreneurial skills for them to  meet up with the  latest standard that is trending," he stated. 

Dr. Mrakpor, while  appreciating  Okowa,  pointed out that "many artisans have benefitted from Governor Okowa's wonderful empowerment programmes in the state."

He added that the programmes had impacted positively in the lives of many Deltans, noting that ICT jobs had been created for thousands who were grateful for the uplifting from penury.

Mrakpor lauded Governor Okowa for promising to empower over 2,500 artisans, just as he promised to effect judicious use of the money by the benefiting artisans in the state.

Delta State Artisans is a coalition of  skilled men and women who are professionally trained on handiwork of various background, such as tailoring, electrical works,  welding and hairdressing, etc.
