Alma mater: Old boys Prevents fire from completely raising down Eziafa Grammar School Buildings

Old boys of Eziafa Grammar School on Sunday January 30th, 2022 prevented a fire incident that would have completely raised down three class rooms of the school buildings.

The fire incident which occurred as a result of illegal bush burning was quickly averted by the timely intervention of Chief Eugene Inoaghan Executive Chairman of Sapele local government area.

Chief Eugene Inoaghan an old boy of the Eziafa Grammar School who spoke to newsmen said that he received a distress call from the vigilante group that were on patrol that one of the School buildings at Eziafa Grammar School was on fire and he immediately called the Delta State and Seplat fire fighters who swung into action immediately.

Speaking further, the Chairman said that the fire fighters arrived at the school and began to douse the fire.

Hon Austine Ayemidejor an old student of Eziafa Grammar School arrived at the school premises alongside the member Representing Sapele constituent at the DTHA Chief Felix Uruemuesiri Anirah as soon as they heard about the incident to see the extent of damage done and find solution to the problem.

Members of the Amukpe Community who witness the incident commended the efforts of the Council boss for responding swiftly, noting that the building would have been completely raised down to debris if there was any delay.

Mrs Oghoro Agnes Principal of Eziafa Grammar School appreciated Chief Eugene Inoaghan, Hon Austine Ayemidejor, Chief Felix Uruemuesiri Anirah, Chief Babuba Abeke and the fire fighters for their assistance.

Vice Principal of Administration Eziafa Grammar School who spoke on the damage done by the fire incident said that three of the class rooms have been affected. She added that although the building was not raised down by the fire, the roof of the class rooms were completely destroyed by the fire, adding that the students have vacated the class rooms as it cannot be used for learning. 

The vice principal administration speaking further appealed to the Delta State Government to assist the school by renovating the class rooms that were affected by the fire to enable students make use of the class rooms as soon as possible.
