ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION OF RESULTS : IGBAKPA DISPELS FEAR OF ELECTION RIGGING

By Onoriode Etatsemi

The member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Benson Igbakpa, has assured his constituents that the days of voters apathy was gradually coming to and end with the introduction of  electronic voting and transmission of election results in Nigeria.

Hon Igbakpa who was a special guest  of honour at the "Ethiope East Praise Day " at the Baptist Mission school, Eku,  revealed that  the National Assembly was working on an amendment through an electoral act where results would be transmitted electronically during elections in the country.

He appealed to his people to register and obtain their voter's cards (PVC) so that his party,  the Peoples Democratic Party PDP would would vote out the All Progressives Congress party (APC) which he likened to an hydra headed monster that had set the country backward.

Honourable Igbakpa  enjoined them never to sit at home any more on election days, but to come out in their numbers to vote in good  leaders of their choice, since their votes would henceforth count.

The lawmaker told his people that he had kept to his promises of attracting at least a project in each ward of the Ethiope Federal Constituency,  assuring that more of such gestures would come to them in the years ahead.

"You have sent me to Abuja and we are doing our best to change the narratives in Ethiope Federal Constituency. We have been able to do what others could not do. I give the glory to God. I assure you, more are coming into every ward.  This time, not just one project but more of it. Your prayers have worked for me. We will continue to do more."

" It is only in PDP that you can find this because even those in APC that say they want to change the nation, they have eventually changed their change and every body is currently crying for this change.  All we need to do is to stand stronger to take back power at the centre."

He added that to be in opposition was tasking, but with experience,  focus and determination, those of them in the National Assembly were making tremendous efforts with their sponsoring people oriented bills and motions.

He emphasised that his success story at the House stemmed from the love the speaker and other members had for him.
