Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Isaiah Bozimo Esq, has implored communities in the state to embrace peaceful resolution of conflicts as he lauds Ugbeogungun Community in Warri South West Local Government Area for maintaining the peace with its neighbouring communities in the state.

Bozimo stated this in his office in Asaba while playing host to the leadership of the Ugbeogungun Community.

He said that the best approach in resolving conflicts was through peaceful dialogues and urged communities in the state to adopt peaceful dialogue in resolving issues affecting their cordial neighbourliness.

He commended the visiting leaders of the community for not  handling the issues affecting them alone, but thinking it wise to present such before the state government for through resolution.

He assured  the community that his ministry would be very sincere in treating the matter brought before it by ensuring a lasting solution to the issue.

" I will like to assure you  that we will be very sincere in our approach.  We would not colour it in any form. We will say it as it is," he said.

He advised them to come back with all the relevant documents relating to the issues brought before him at their convenience in no distant time so that the matter could be resolved amicably.

The aggrieved members of Ugbeogungun Community, led by their leaders, Rt Hon. Kent Omatsone, former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, and Chief Gbubemi Edah,  had earlier intimated the Attorney general and Commissioner for Justice on the contending issues bordering on the sharing formula of the benefits  accruing to them from oil companies operating in the community.

They told the commissioner that they were very peaceful people and host to multinational oil companies and other sisters communities which were later involved in litigations  arising from sharing formula and other issues.

They explained that they decided to seek the assistance of the state government to ensure parties involved in the matter  obeyed the ruling of the customary court which had not been vacated among other court related issues still pending.
