Remover of tricycle exit cover: Inoaghan speaks..says he never said so, insist there is no closing time for tricycle...Okada now 8pm
The chairman of Sapele Local Government Area, in Delta State, Hon Eugene Inoaghan on Friday has said, he never ordered for the removal of tricycle cover, insisting his only order during a security meeting after the attack on Point on Sales (POS) increased was on motorcycles (Okada).
Inoaghan who was reacting to the news making round that he ordered the removal of tricycle exit cover said he took some few decisions during a security meeting, removal of tricycle exit cover was not part of it.
"when we found out that the attack in POS centers was becoming unbearable, we decided to take some stand on part of what we feel will make our people safe, we agreed on POS stand closing at 6pm, we also extend the closing time which had been 7pm to 8pm and we also took a stand on numberless vehicles since most of the vehicles they use in perpetuating these crimes are numberless vehicles.
"We never said Tricycles should close by 8pm or by 9pm, the only thing we said about them is that they should be security conscious and In their course of transporting passengers, they should report any suspicious move" adding that security is for everyone.
He assured the people of Sapele that the timber town will continue to be a safer place for everyone "I will never rest in my quest to make Sapele safer, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has done so much to make Delta Safe so we all must continue to complement his effort"
He thanked all security operatives for their efforts in the battle to weed out criminal elements from the town, adding that he is determined to make Delta safer than ever.
