Tilije, Delta CCP President, Others Intensify Efforts For PVCs' Registration
Delta State Commissioner for Finance, Chief Fidelis Tilije has stressed the need for Christians' participation in politics through registration for their personal voters cards (PVC) .
Tilije , who stated this in Asaba during the INEC -e training programme organised by the Christian Community Platform (CCP) , said that they should register and obtain their PVC to enable them play critical role in governance.
The Commissioner, represented by his Special Assistant, Mr. Andy Atumah commended religious leaders and Christians in particular for their ceaseless prayers for the success of the Okowa administration.
Tilije, who was the chairman of the occasion lauded the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Religious Matters, Bishop Greatman Malagu and the Christian Community Platform for organising the training which according to him was designed for Christians participants to go round churches to register Christian faithful to register for their PVC.
Earlier in a welcome address, the President of the Christian Community Platform, Delta State chapter, Rev. Samson Bodjor commended the governor, Senator (Dr. ) Ifeanyi Okowa for steps taken by his administration towards actualising the prosperity for all Deltans vision .
He described the State Commissioner for Finance, Chief Fidelis Tilije as a great asset to Okowa's administration who had been discharging his duties diligently .
Rev. Bodjor said that the CCP was a registered body with over 15,000 registered members across the twenty five Local Government Areas of the state, adding that the group had been on ground for over six years.
He said that CCP was formed with the aim of helping intending visionary and godly leaders to win elections and to support good governance in Delta State .
In his lecture presentation, the immediate past Attorney-General of Delta State and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Peter Mrakpor , (SAN) noted that churches should be involved in political activities in order to entrench good leadership for the overall well-being of the people.
Dr. Mrakpor, who emphasised the need for all individuals to be patriotic and articulate ways of enhancing the development of their areas , advised Christians to register for their PVCs just as he said that through such approach they could determine their future.
Dr. Mrakpor reiterated that the future of the people depended on the choices they made , adding that the training was apt.
Bishop Nmalagwu, coordinator of CCP in Delta state, charged the participants who came all over the 25 local government areas of the state to go back to their respective local government areas to do their work of getting Christians registered diligently.
He told the males amongst them, to shun the temptation of their involvement with the opposite sex, since they are children of God chosen to do God's work effectively by ensuring every children of God get register and enroll themselves in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ) .
