Agege, Ayemidejor, Agas, Igbakpa, Esiso, Edevbie, Amori others pay tributes as Chief Johnson Ighomena Ewuatore is buried

The Usiavwierigho of Oghareki-Oghara kingdom late Chief Johnson Ighomena A. Ewuatore was on Saturday buried at his home in Oghara, the headquarters of Ethiope West local government area amidst outpour of tributes from dignitaries.

The Deputy Senate President, Barr Ovie Omo-Agege, the Chairman of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Olorogun Barr Kingsley Esiso, former Delta State Chief of Staff and present, Chief David Edevbie and Hon Festus Ovie Agas, PDP National Assistant Organising Secretary, Chief Ighoyota Amori, and Hon Austine Ayemidejor were among prominent Nigerians who paid their tributes to the Okaorho of Oghareki-Oghara kingdom.

Others are former commissioner of work in the state, and Governorship aspirant, Chief James Aguoye, Ethiope West local government area chairman, Hon Owoso, Oghara Elites Forum and a host of others also paid their last respect to the Chief.
 
Late Chief Johnson Ighomena A. Ewuatore died at the age of 117 at his Oghara home. He holds a high ranking traditional title as the oldest man and the Usiavwierigho of Oghareki-Oghara kingdom.

He was laid to rest at his residence in Oghara after a requiem mass was held for him.

The Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege who was physically present described the late Ekpe as a disciplinarian who brought happiness to his people.

 "With his death, Oghareki-Oghara and the Urhobo nation have lost a disciplinarian, preacher, great teacher, and historian and above all a humble and peace loving man who has left indelible footprints in the sand of time" adding that he will be remembered for his honesty, selfless service, dignity, grace and devotion.
The Ethiope Federal House of Representative member, Hon Ben Rollands Igbakpa in his tributes quoted Ecclesiastes 3:2 as a soothing balm that having gone through this in 2003, his thoughts and prayers are always with the family

Olorogun Esiso, the Delta State PDP chairman said PA Ighomena lived a good life and died at a very ripe age "I strongly believe that his life time was spent serving God and mankind, and we are convinced that the good Lord will certainly rest him at his bossom'

On Hon Ovie Agas, he said the Ekpe's death was painful "we are consoled by the fact that he lived a fulfilled life and he was the Okaorho (Ekpe) of Oghareki-Oghara, we are also glad that he raised credible children, it is our prayer that God will continue to grant his family the wisdom and grace to give him a befitting burial" he added.

The former Delta State Chief of Staff, Chief David Edevbie said Chief Ewuatore was a good man who led a life that was focused on contributing to his people, referring to the son, Chief (Engr) Emmanuel Ighomena as an example of how well Papa has raised his children.

Chief Augoye  while consoling the family on the death of the Ekpe prayed that God in his infinite grace will grant you and all who lovingly knew him, the fortitude to bear his absence, "father's are our first role model and I believe in the great deal of knowledge, wisdom and nobility that he imparted into you (Chief Emmanuel Ighomena) which Ultimately made you the amazing man you are today"

While on Ayemidejor's part, Papa lived a fulfilled life, his death was a shock, because we are expecting he will live more life to continue to give us his fatherly advice, we are happy that Papa soul is resting in the bossom' of the Lord" he said.
